Remodel costs can vary significantly depending on the scope, the condition of your home, and your material choices. Since market values fluctuate, it’s tough to give an exact number without first understanding your wants/needs and conducting a feasibility study, assessing what’s behind your walls. However, opting for a design-build approach helps you better control your budget. Unlike traditional remodeling, where you might spend $40,000+ on architectural plans before even bidding out the project to contractors, our design and project development phase covers all the conceptual, schematic, and design work, setting your project up for a seamless build. This work that occurs over about 3 months is covered by a flat retainer fee upfront. Once we’ve developed a close, realistic budget at the end of the phase, you still have the option to decide whether you want to proceed with the build based on that budget.
-
Choosing 415 Remodeling simplifies your project by providing a single point of contact for all aspects of your remodel. This approach often proves more cost-effective and less stressful compared to coordinating separate designers and contractors.
-
We provide transparent pricing from the beginning. Our team will give you a clear and upfront cost estimate for the entire project, so you know what to expect. If your budget doesn't align with our offerings, we will be honest and direct you to a more suitable option.

The duration of a remodel varies depending on the scope of the project. During the design and project development phase, we’ll provide a timeline based on your specific needs and the complexity of the remodel.

Before starting the remodel, it’s helpful to have a clear vision of what you want and any specific preferences or requirements. During our initial consultations, we’ll guide you through the preparation process and help you understand what to expect.
-
No, you do not need architectural plans to inquire with us about your project. Most remodeling projects do not require architectural plans, and we have the full capability in-house to produce plan sets for permitting and build. If an architect is needed for your project, we can refer you to our trusted network and tailor our personalized process to fit your needs.

Kitchen and bathroom remodels in San Francisco are heavily influenced by market trends and the unique challenges of working in older homes. While it’s difficult to pin down a realistic cost before a feasibility study and understanding your vision, we can tell you that kitchen remodels in the city rarely start below $120,000 (for the ENTIRE project, design, permitting, materials and products, and labor) and go up from there. To get a realistic idea of your potential costs, we always recommend an initial in-home consultation with us to discuss the specific needs of your home!
-
During our initial phone call, we'll get to know your project needs and goals. If we’re a good match, we’ll schedule a site visit with our designer, and build expert to discuss your project in detail, talk about the feasible build options based on your homes current conditions, and give you transparent, realistic budget information.
-
Contrary to traditional remodeling methods, our designers and builders collaborate closely throughout the entire project. We work together on space planning, product selection, and overall design, ensuring that every aspect of the project is aligned and executed seamlessly.
-
We maintain open and honest communication throughout the project. If any changes or issues arise, we address them promptly and transparently, keeping you informed and involved in the decision-making process. Unexpected discoveries, supply chain delays, design adjustments, weather impacts, permit issues, and subcontractor coordination can arise, and we address them with transparency and proactive communication.
